It’s been more than one year since the pandemic start. Every country has developed its strategy on how to fight with the Covid. You may wonder, how Russia is dealing with the pandemic today? Here is the answer for you!
Mild restrictions
Back in 2020 Russia introduced total lockdown as many countries of the world did. However, now Russia opts for another strategy. Step by step the country is going back to normal life. Shops, restaurants, theaters, cinemas, museums are now open for visitors. Of course, there is still a number of restrictions. Masks are obligatory in public places as well as social distancing. These measures allow supporting the economy affected by the pandemic and not allow the epidemiologic situation to get out of control.
Vaccination
Russia has been one of the first countries that developed a vaccine – Sputnik V. You can find the research results in a respectful medical journal “The Lancet”. The vaccine proved to be effective and save and is now approved in more than 60 countries of the world. The vaccination in Russia is in progress and number of vaccinated people is growing every day. Every Russian citizen can get vaccinated by signing up on a governmental portal.
Hopefully, soon the vaccine will be available for foreigners who come to Russia!
Medical treatment
When the pandemic started, nobody knew how to face this new illness. The medical system was completely overloaded. Today Russia is making sure that there are enough places in the hospitals, there is much more understanding on how to treat this illness and which medications to use. The testing system is working much better now and tests give much more accurate results.
