St. Petersburg is famous for its rainy and cold weather, so nobody expects summer here to be hot. However, summer days in St. Petersburg can be really hot and sunny, and the hottest month is usually July. People usually prefer to take advantage of the good weather and stay outside enjoying the sun. So let´s find the best places for hot days in St. Petersburg!
Finnish bay coast
St. Peterburg is situated on the coast of the Finnish bay that is a part of the Baltic Seas. Of course, this is not a warm Southern sea, but locals still love it for sandy beaches and pines growing in the coastal area. The water in the Finnish Bay is usually cold, so you may be not inspired to swim there (although Russians certainly do!) but it is still a good opportunity to get out of a stuffy city. The most popular directions are Sestroretsk, Repino, and Zelenogorsk.
Peterhof Gardens
Although Peterhof Fountain Park is quite busy during the summer, it is still a nice place to go. The fountains are not only beautiful but also very refreshing! The visitors, especially kids also love “schutihi” fountains – the ones that are literally designed to spray people going by! Also if Fountain Park seems too busy for you, you can always visit nearby Alexandria Park, a beautiful green zone with unique buildings of Tsar´s epoch.
New Holland Island
If you don´t feel like leaving the city, you can visit New Holland island, situated in 15 minutes from Educa school! This island is a city space where you can find many cafes and restaurants, green zones where you can just sit down and relax with cold lemonade, canals, and even a small garden with herbs and vegetables. In the evening, you can quite often enjoy small local bands’ open-air concerts.
